CRISPSUM WEEKLY REFRIGERATOR CHECK Version 1.1 | Updated August 5, 2026 PURPOSE Use this checklist for a short, repeatable review of observable refrigerator conditions, food identity, and the next household action. It is not a food-safety inspection or a declaration that food is safe. THREE STEPS 1. Check facts first. Read the appliance thermometer, confirm the door closes, preserve airflow, and inspect raw-food containment. 2. Review visible food. Identify leftovers, damaged produce, duplicate open packages, and food already assigned to a meal. 3. Assign one next action. Record an owner and review date for anything that cannot be completed during the check. FIELD NOTES - record_status: Distinguishes the blank template from the separately supplied illustrative example. - zone: The refrigerator area or household decision being reviewed. - check: A repeatable task already included in the template. - what_to_observe: The exact fact, condition, or measurement to inspect. - finding: What you actually observed. Avoid guessing about unknown handling history. - next_action: One practical response to the finding. - owner: The household member responsible for that response. - next_review_date: The date the condition or action should be checked again. - completed: Yes when the current task is complete; No when follow-up remains. SAFETY BOUNDARY A thermometer reading, package date, smell, or checklist status cannot establish food safety by itself. Follow package directions, current recalls, appliance instructions, and current product-specific public-health guidance. Do not taste questionable food to test it.
